If I’m never found, at least I’ll be where the cicadas sing where the leaves tremble in the sweet summer wind where young rabbits graze unbothered under my gaze because they haven’t yet learned to be afraid If I’m never found at least I’ll sink low into the earth of my own accord mingle with the roots of shrubs and quiet mycelium as they softly chew me away living the thousand year life cycle of decay dust to dust, dirt to dirt and everything between If I’m never found know that I was not lost for between the tall grasses, a signal the fireflies rose from me the trees fell to me and I was alive at last
